PVR Nest expands its Childscapes project

PVR Nest in association with Diya Foundation and Care & Concern Foundation all set to transform the lives of disadvantaged children

PVR Nest, the CSR arm of PVR Ltd. and a registered NGO which works for the disadvantaged children and deteriorating urban environment expanded their Childscapes programme in two new centers today at PVR Naraina and PVR Vikaspuri. The expansion of the programme has been undertaken in association with Diya Foundation & Care and Concern Foundation. The project seeks to transform the lives and restore the dignity of poor, street, vulnerable children in and around PVR neighborhood through educational, social and cultural activities.

 

Mr. Pierre Vaeson, Ambassador of Belgium, was the chief guest at the launch. The occasion was also graced by Mr. Pramod Arora, Group President & CEO of PVR Ltd as the guest of honour. The event witnessed delightful performances by the children and unveiling of the paintings made by children.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Pramod Arora, Group President & CEO, PVR Ltd said, “We are delighted to expand our very successful Childscapes programme. The project will empower children to access wider choice of possibilities for education. We would also like to thank Diya Foundation and Care & Concern Foundation for partnering with us for a social cause and believing us. I strongly believe that only collective efforts can help bring a desired change in the society. PVR Nest has been driven to work for the betterment of the children by using the strong medium of cinema and art.”

PVR Limited, India’s most premier and largest cinema chain has successfully used the medium of cinema, films and art to develop innovative and sustainable models of communication with the communities that they interact and benefit. With the expansion of Childscapes, PVR Nest has added 60 new beneficiaries in these two centers and the programme will now be running successfully in four centers including PVR Priya and PVR Saket.
