Jammu and Kashmir government today said that 1,472 political activists have been provided security cover by the state police.
"As on date, 1,472 political activists have been provided security cover by the security wing of J&K Police," Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said in a written reply to the question of BJP MLA Rajesh Gupta in the Legislative Assembly.
As many as 708 vehicles have been provided as a part of security cover to 481 political protected persons, he said, adding no imported vehicle is deployed with any political activist.

The security wing of Jammu and Kashmir police provides secured hotel accommodation to the political activists, Mufti said.
"As on date, 440 political activists, including 294 uncategorised political activists have been provided secured hotel accommodation," he added.
