A person was today killed allegedly in firing by security forces on a group of violent protesters in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, police officials said.
The protesters pelted stones on a convoy of security forces passing through Ganovpora village in the district, the officials said.
Security forces fired a few rounds in the air to chase the protesters away. Three persons were injured in the clash, they said.

One of the injured persons, identified as Javaid Ahmad Bhat, later succumbed to injuries, the officials said.
