13 arrested for selling liquor illegally in Gurgaon

Thirteen persons were arrested for allegedly selling liquor illegally and 2,347 bottles seized from their possession in a raid conducted at 14 liquor vends in Badshahpur area here.

Acting on tip-off, Gurgaon police conducted a raid at 14 liquor vends and 13 persons were held for selling liquor without license and permit, police said.

Police also seized 1,878 bottles of country-made liquor, 154 bottles of English liquor and 315 bottles of beer in the raid.

During investigation, it was found that these liquor vends had been opened by their owners near construction sites in slum areas.

Police would continue taking action against such liquor vends, he said, adding, investigation is being carried out to find out involvement of any government department in this regard.
