Delhi Police has registered 15 cases of human trafficking in 2013 in which 29 persons have been arrested so far, Lok Sabha was informed today.
In 2012, 24 cases were reported overall in which 81 people were arrested. In 2011, 46 people were arrested in 20 cases of trafficking while in 2010, 30 people were arrested in 14 such cases, Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran said today.
Replying to another question, Ramachandran told Lok Sabha that due to the surge in number of private vehicles and commercialisation of more roads as well as development of new colonies, the NCT of Delhi is facing shortage of parking space.
Delhi Municipal Corporations are operating 265 parking sites in the areas under its jurisdiction while New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has constructed two multilevel parking at Sarojini Nagar and Baba Kharag Singh Marg, which are in operation, he said.
