15 girl inmates of orphanage sick

Fifteen inmates of a private girls' orphanage were admitted to a hospital after they took ill at Basirhat in North 24-Parganas district.

CMOH Dr Pushpendu Sengupta said the girls had foodpoisoning after they visited nearby home but the cause of the contamination is still unknown.

A total of 60 girls took ill due to the foodpoisoning at the orphanage at Dhanyakuria.

Nearly 95 girls stay in the orphanage.
