15-year old girl found hanging in toilet of hostel

A 15-year old girl allegedly committed suicide in the toilet of a hostel in Thondamuthur on the outskirts of the city.

Fellow hostel inmates found the girl hanging last night and the hostel authorities immediately alerted police

The body has been retrieved and sent for post-mortem, police said.

Investigations are on to ascertain what prompted her to take the extreme step, they said.
