168 labourers lodged in relief camp in Manipur

At least 168 labourers, mostly migrant daily wage earners, are currently staying at a relief camp here following the killing of nine non-Manipuri workers last week, police said today.
These labourers had been brought from different parts of Imphal west, Imphal east, Thoubal and Bishenpur districts and were staying here under police protection, they said.
Migrant labourers in other areas had been asked to work in those areas where security personnel were deployed, police said.
Nine persons were killed and 12 others got injured when suspected militants exploded a bomb in a migrant labour camp in Nagamapal area in Imphal West district on September 13.
