17-yr-old raped by teacher

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her teacher in Atra village here, police said.

The incident took place yesterday when the minor was returning from her school, Circle Officer Jagbir Singh Atri said, adding, she was dragged to a agriculture field by her teacher who later raped her.

The family of the victim lodged an FIR today and the girl has been sent for medical examination, the CO said, adding, the accused is absconding and efforts were on to nab him.
