18-year-old girl commits suicide in UP

An 18-year-old daughter of an army jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself following a family dispute at Kharad village here, police said today.

Reshma, daughter of Mansab Ali, shot herself yesterday, according to a complaint by her grandfather. A case of suicide was registered in this connection, they said.

In another incident, a 23-year-old youth, son of a home guard Nain Singh, attempted suicide after his family disapproved of his love affair in Mantodi village here.

Arjun was in love with a girl but the family did not approve of the relationship. Upset over the issue, he shot himself last evening and was seriously injured, SHO Ajay Lal said.
 

He was rushed to a hospital and his condition is stated to be critical, he said.
