Two burqa-clad persons were arrested for allegedly carrying beef in a car on station road under Bagbera police station in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand today, a police official said.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted the car and seized 75 kg of the "banned meat" stuffed in two sacks, Superintendent of Police (City) Prabhat Kumar said.
Kumar said both the accused were wearing the veil.
"We are interrogating them," he said.
The accused were identified as Wasir Ahmed and Jubair Alam.
