2 arrested for trying to murder HMK leader

: Two persons were arrested here today for allegedly attempting to murder the Hindu Makkal Katchi press Coordinator Senthur Pandi and his friend at Sivagnanapuram here, police said.

Police said Senthurpandi and his friend who were travelling on a bike managed to escape when a three member gang accosted them late last night with sickles.

Two of them were arrested today and a search is on for another gang member, police said, adding the sickles had also been seized.
