2 auto-rickshaws owned by female driver gutted in fire

Two auto-rickshaws, owned by a female driver, a shop, and a few shanties were gutted in fire, set allegedly by a drunk youth in Sudamapuri, police said today.

Police said a youth named Vikky has been taken in custody and is being interrogated.

The auto-rickshaw owner, Ruby, who claims to be the only female auto-rickshaw driver in Noaida and Ghaziabad, said the drunk youth allegedly set fire near her house last night which soon engulfed the vehicles, a shop and some shanties nearby.

She said that the two gutted auto-rickshaws were worth Rs 1.5 lakh and she had been taking care of her family with the income the vehicles generated for the last six year.
