Two persons were killed and five others injured after being hit by a speeding jeep in the district, police said today.
The incident occurred last night when the victims were standing along the roadside in Ringus area here when the jeep came from wrong direction and hit them, police said.
One of the deceased was identified as Shankarlal while the injured were admitted to a local hospital, they said, adding that efforts were on to identify the other deceased.
The accused jeep driver fled from the spot.
