2 members of anti-Taliban committee killed in blast in Pak

At least two members of an anti- Taliban peace committee were killed and another seriously injured today in a bomb attack in Pakistan's troubled tribal region, officials said.

An improvised explosive device planted on the roadside exploded in Inzari village of Pindyali area of Mohmand tribal region.

A security official said the explosive material was detonated when members of the peace committee were traveling on the road.

"Two people died and third one was injured," the official said.

Taliban's breakaway faction Jamatul Ahrar claimed responsibility for the attack. This group is headed by Omar Khurasani who is active in Mohmand.
