2 wanted men held

Two persons allegedly involved in

over 18 cases of dacoity and murder among other heinous crimes have been arrested, police said today.

According to police, following a tip-off, Sanjay (32) and Mahender (35), both hailing from Bulandsahar in Uttar Pradesh, were apprehended at Mandoli Chowk, Nand Nagri Bus Depot, after a brief scuffle.

Police recovered an automatic pistol, a country-made gun and three live cartridges from their possession.

"The accused were found to be involved in more than 18 cases of dacoity, murder, riots etc in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly told the police that their three more associates Manoj, Arjun and Anand, are already in different jails.
 

"A cash reward of Rs 3,000 was declared for information leading to Sanjay's arrest by UP Police. Sanjay confessed to his involvement in 13 cases.

"Mahender has expertise in stealing electric wires from main lines of 440 volts. So far, he has confessed his involvement in as many as six criminal cases," said Yadav.
