A total of 28 people, including a former MP of Samajwadi Party (SP) and an ex-Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP, today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of the state party chief Mahendra Nath Pandey.
Speaking on the occasion, Pandey said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas'. A number of schemes for strengthening the poor, Dalits, farmers and backward castes have been implemented."
Ashok Rawat (former BSP MP from Misrikh), Jai Prakash Rawat (former SP MP from Hardoi), former MLA Prem Prakash alias Jippy Tiwari and former MLC Hira Thakur joined the BJP today, according to an official statement issued by the BJP.
