The three on Sunday barged into the house of one Ankur Talashi and tried to abduct him. His father Tej Krishen Talashi was stabbed and attacked by an iron rod when he tried to rescue him. The assailants fled when people rushed to the spot after the father-son duo raised an alarm.
Tej Krishen later died in the hospital, triggering protests in Jagti township as thousands of people blocked Jammu-Srinagar highway for four hours yesterday demanding arrest of the culprits and Rs 25 lakh compensation to the victim's family.
