Six persons, including three children, drowned in an agricultural well in a village near here today, police said.
The mishap occurred when 15 members of three families were swimming and taking bath in the well in Budugunta Palli village, about 85km from here.
The walls of the well, which was in a dilapidated condition, caved in and stones and clay dumps fell on those swimming, police said.
Six of them drowned, while nine others were rescued. Among the rescued, three suffered injuries, they said.
