3 criminals arrested

Delhi police today claimed to
have busted a gang which used to steal expensive electronic gadgets from cars after puncturing their tyres.
Three accused have been arrested in this connection and two Santro cars, eight laptops, five mobile phones, two tablets and one camera have been recovered from them.
Michael (24), Shera (22) and Deepak (22), members of Thak Thak or puncture gang, were today arrested by North District police.
According to police, one Dr Sujit Kumar filed a complaint on January 29 that his tablet computer and a pen drive were stolen from his car when he was changing the tyre of his car after it got punctured near a bus stop at Wazirabad crossing.
During the course of investigation police learnt that three persons namely Michael, Shera and Deepak - all residents of Madangir - are committing theft from cars in North District area.
Acting on a tip-off, the three were arrested.
During interrogation, the gang told police that they used to move in the area in their car and target cars where owners carry electronics items or bags. After zeroing in on a car they used to follow it and one of the gang members would puncture the car's tyre with the help of a sharp object preferably at red lights.
"When the driver would get down from his car and try to repair or change the tyre, the accused persons would open the door of that car and steal the goods and escape from the spot," police said.
