3 die, 6 hurt as jeep ploughs through group of people

Three persons, including two children, were killed and six injured when a jeep ploughed through them in Hargaon area here today, police said.

Two children, aged six and 12, and a 60-year-old woman were killed in the accident on Sitapur-Lakhimpur highway, they said.

Six, all children, were injured in the mishap which happened when the jeep was trying to overtake a vehicle.

The jeep driver fled leaving the vehicle behind, police said.
