3 of a family drown in UP

An outing turned into a tragic incident for a Rajasthan-based family after three members drowned today while taking a bath at Kachchla ghat in the Ganga river here.

Four people of the family went into deep water at 8 am, in spite of a warning. Sumit (18), Anil (22) and Shailendra (21) drowned in the river while Amit was rescued, Additional Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Srivastava said.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem to neighbouring Kasganj district, the officer said.
