3 pilgrims heading for Pushkaram killed

Three pilgrims, including two women, heading for the 'Godavari Pushkaram' were killed and two others injured when two speeding cars collided near here this morning, police said.
The accident occurred at Ambaripet village outskirts, nearly 40 kms from here, when a car heading towards Dharmapuri collided with another four-wheeler coming from the opposite direction, Peddapalli's Deputy Superintendent of Police Nalla Malla Reddy said.
The deceased were identified as G Ramanamma (55), Srinivas (33) and Venkatalaxmi (30), who were on way from Hyderabad to attend the ongoing Godavari Pushkaram in Rajamundry, he said.

The two injured persons were taken to a government hospital at Karimnagar, he said, adding that according to doctors the condition of one of them was serious.
The bodies were sent to government hospital for postmortem.
A case has been registered and further probe is on into the mishap, the police officer added.
