: In a case of suspected food poisoning, 30 schoolchildren of a government middle school in the district were hospitalised today after they started vomiting after eating their mid-day meals, police said.
They said 28 children were discharged this evening after treatment at the Primary Health Centre at Thirukkadaiyur village, while the other two are under treatment.
A total of 170 children had eaten the mid-day meal at the village near Porayar, soon after which 30 of them started vomiting, they said.
Parents alleged that rotten eggs supplied with the meal was the reason for the children taking ill.
