30-year-old man murdered, police suspect wife's hand

A 30-year-old man was found dead with his throat slit at his residence in Barkat nagar area of the city, police said today.

The deceased's wife is the prime suspect in the case.

"Rakesh's throat was slit by a sharp edged object. The murder took place sometime last night, but his wife informed family members only in the morning," DCP East K Rastradeep said.

"We questioned victim's wife at their house, but no one has been taken into custody so far," he said.

Rakesh's brothers, uncle and other family members, who were present in the house, said that the room was bolted from inside and they did not hear any cries.
 

The victim is also learnt to have property related dispute with relatives, police added.

Investigation is on in the matter, they added.
