A 30 year old woman working as domestic maid was allegedly raped by a man in South Delhi's Mehrauli area, police said.
The woman in her complaint at Mehrauli police station said that she worked as a domestic maid. She was called by a man on her mobile phone who wished to employ her, on Friday.
When she agreed the accused came on his scooter to pick her up and show his house in Raj Nagar locality of Mehrauli. When she went to his house, the man allegedly raped her, the woman stated in her complaint, said a senior police officer.
On the complaint of the victim an FIR was registered under relevant sections of law at Mehrauli police station and she was sent for medical check up which proved rape, said the officer.
The accused identified as Monu Kumar, 30, was arrested by the police yesterday. He had also threatened the victim not to lodge a police complaint against him, the officer said
Police said that the accused was a petty trader who sold crockeries at the local weekly market.
