32-year-old woman raped in UP

A 32-year-old woman was

allegedly raped by a youth in Balauni police station area here.

The incident took place yesterday when the woman had gone to relieve herself when the 22-year-old accused, from the same village, raped her, In-charge of Balauni police station Omvir Singh said.

An FIR has been lodged on the complaint of the woman, Singh said, adding that she has been sent for medical examination today.

The incident has led to tension in the village following which additional police force was deployed to avoid any untoward incident, the In-charge said, adding that the situation is under control now.
