Thirty-five persons were arrested on charges of power theft last month under Jaipur Vidhyut Vitran Nigam Limited (DISCOM).
The Jaipur DISCOM's vigilance teams carried out surprise checks at 6439 places and detected power thefts at 4492 places, CMD of Jaipur DISCOM Bhaskar A Sawant said today in a release.
He said 895 FIRs were lodged and 35 persons were arrested on charges of power theft, he said.

Checks were carried out at hotels, restaurants and other establishments, and a revenue of Rs 1.26 crore was also collected, Sawant further said.
Jaipur Discom is engaged in distribution and supply of electricity in 12 out of 33 districts of Rajasthan, namely Jaipur, Dausa, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Kota, Bundi, Baran, Jhalawar, Sawaimadhopur, Tonk and Karauli.
