4 get 5-year jail for hacking youth over eve teasing incident

Four persons were today sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment by a court here on the charge of attempting to murder a youth who had allegedly teased a girl.

Holding the four guilty, Additional District and Sessions Judge M Chandran also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on each of them.

According to proescution, the four had hacked and injured S Kanthan with sharp edged weapons at Sholavandan in October, 2014 for teasing the girl.
