4 killed, 2 injured as tipper falls into gorge in Chamba district

Four people were killed and two others injured when a tipper rolled into a deep gorge near Bhanera in district, about 400 km from here, police said.

The injured were identified as Surendra Singh (47) and Puneet Kumar (27). They were rushed to a hospital in Pathankot, the police said.

In another accident, two private buses collided head-on near high court on Cart Road here. About a dozen persons were injured in the accident.

The incident caused major traffic jam in the city.

Meanwhile, a tourist bus on way to from Manali caught fire near Ria village on this afternoon.

Panic gripped 53 passengers who hustled to come out of the bus and fifteen people received minor injuries.

Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot, said.
