4 killed in accident at unmanned railway crossing in UP

Four persons were today killed and three others injured when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling was hit by a train at an unmanned railway crossing near Sikanderpur here, police said.
The incident occurred when the autorickshaw driver Veerpal (30) tried to rush past the crossing on the Shahjahanpur-Sitapur railway line while the Kamakhya Express was approaching it, they said.
Veerpal and three labourers from Sisauna village - Jagrup (40), Sagir Ahmed (32) Lal Mohammad (33) - died on the spot while three others were injured, police said.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem and the injured admitted to a hospital, they said.
Train traffic on the route remained disrupted for about one hour, police said.
