A 40-year-old driver was killed today when his tractor-trolley allegedly rammed into a running passenger train at an unmanned railway crossing at Laxamangarh in Sikar district of Rajasthan, police said.

The deceased, identified as Sultan, was killed when his vehicle rammed into the passenger train bound between Churu and Sikar as he tried to cross the level crossing while the train was running on the track, SHO Laxamangarh, Surendra Singh told PTI on telephone.

The incident occurred at 9 AM, Singh said adding that though there was no damage to train, the trolley was blown into pieces.

Train routes were affected for about 30 minutes after which the damaged vehicle's wreckage was removed, he said.
