Four fishermen from here, arrested for allegedly fishing in Sri Lankan territorial waters, were today remanded to judicial custody till October 10 by a court in the island nation.
The fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lankan navy personnel yesterday while fishing near Neduntheevu.
They were produced before the Judicial Magistrate of Oorkavalthurai at his house as the court was on holiday today on account of full moon day, Rameswaram Fishermen Association President, S Emerite said quoting information received by him.
They were lodged in Jaffna prison, he said.
