401 violations of labour laws detected in Haryana in March

Haryana Labour department has detected 401 violations of various kinds during March 2013 under various labour laws after conducting 4,812 inspections.

The department also realised over Rs 10.51 lakh as fine.

Stating this here today, a spokesman of the department said, prosecutions were launched against 401 establishments and conviction obtained against 393 cases.

Furthermore, warnings were also issued to 106 establishments for labour law violations.

Also, 114 industrial disputes were settled by conciliation officers of the labour department and 47 disputes were withdrawn by workers or trade unions, he said.

The department recovered Rs 478.48 lakh as unpaid contribution of wages from employers and spent Rs 146.01 lakh on various labour welfare schemes run by the Welfare Board during the same period, he added.
