5 killed in scaffolding collapse in China

Five people were killed after a scaffolding made of bamboo collapsed in eastern China's Fujian province on Saturday, local authorities said.

The municipal government of Putian city said five people were also injured after the scaffolding crashed causing workers to fall at a house under construction in the village of Keshan.

Four people died on the spot while others injured in the incident were sent to hospital, where another person died, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
