5 leopard cubs killed as 'trash' burnt in Maha sugarcane field

In a shocker, five cubs, all aged three weeks, were killed in as farm workers burnt trash in a field, unaware of the presence of the wild cats there.

The cubs were found dead in a farm at Awasari village in Junnar tehsil of Pune Wednesday, police said.

A said, "We were there to cut the harvest. The farm owner asked us to burn trash on field and we did so, unaware that the cubs were there."
