58 Arunachal MLAs cast vote in Presidential election

Parliamentary secretary for Home, Gadam Ete, could not cast his vote as the result of election in the 2009 assembly poll from Aalo West constituency was set aside by the Gauhati High Court on June 1 and his nearest rival Duter Padu of Trinamool Congress was elected with immediate effect.
However, Padu also could not cast her vote as she was yet to be sworn in as MLA.
Trade and Commerce Parliamentary secretary Phosum Khimhun cast his vote in Delhi.
The ruling Congress has 46 MLAs, Trinamool Congress and NCP have five each, followed by BJP three and a lone Independent.
While NCP, TC and the Independent supported UPA nominee Pranab Mukherjee, BJP legislators voted for P A Sangma.
