6 injured in celebratory firing in UP

Six people were injured in celebratory firing at a wedding function in Fakerpur village here, police said today.

The incident occurred yesterday when a marriage party was going from Bidoli village to Fakerpur.

"A man in the marriage party fired into the air to celebrate. However, the barrel of his country-made pistol burst, injuring some people," said SHO Sanjiv Sharma.

"The injured have been shifted to hospital," he said, adding that they were pursuing the accused.
