6 killed, child injured, in separate road mishaps in HP

Six people were killed and a child was injured in two separate road accidents in Kangra district today, police said.

In Shahpur, four persons died on the spot and a child was injured when the car they were travelling in was hit by a truck near the Central University, they added.

The accident happened when they were returning from Jammu. The child has been admitted at Tanda Medical College and Hospital, police said.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed when a motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a truck near Bodh village in the district.

Mangal Daas and Tanya Mehra, both 20-year-old and residents of Channi village in Punjab, died on the spot, police said.
 

The accident happened on the Pathankot-Jogindernagar National Highway when they were going to Pathankot, they said.

The bodies have been sent to the Nurpur Civil Hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered, police added.
