7 children rescued from begging

Seven children, including five girls, were today rescued during a drive against beggar from Palasia square here by police and a non-government organisation.
"Five girls and two boys aged between 4-13 years were rescued by police and Child Line during a drive against beggars in the Palasia area," Child Line coordinator, Brajesh Dhakad told PTI.
The children have been temporary given shelter by a social organisation on the directives of child welfare committee, he said.

The committee members will find out the compulsion behind their involvement in begging and also advised their parents to keep them away from this menace, he added.
According to Dhakad, in case these children were found begging again even after their parents were counselled, then action will be taken against the parents as per the law.
