7 fingers of life convict severed while working on machine

Seven fingers of a life convict's hands got severed while he was working on a machine at the central jail here, police said today.

Five fingers of the right hand of Azaghu Sakthivel and two from his left hand were severed, they said.

Other inmates rushed to the spot on hearing his screams and he was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where he is being treated, police said.
