70-year old woman found dead in a mysterious circumstance

A 70-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her house in Thudiyalur on the outskirts, today.

Some boys noticed the body of the woman this afternoon, while playing in the area.

Police recovered the body and sent it for post mortem at the Govenrment Hospital here, police said.

Quoting relatives of the deceased, identified as Bhakkiammal, police said the woman was involved in a property related issue for the last few years and some unidentified persons had made a futile attempt to suffocate her to death a year ago.

Suspecting foul play as expressed by the relatives, police are investigating whether she was murdered, they said.
