75-yr old trampled to death by wild elephant

A 75-year-old man was trampled to death by a wild elephant in village Poradih of Seraikela-Kharswan district, a senior police officer today said.

The septuagenarian victim went out to respond to the nature's call last night when he was attacked by the pachyderm fatally, officer-in-charge of the police station, T P Kushwaha said.

The body of the victim was spotted today morning and the forest department officials were immediately apprised of the incident.

Later, the forest department officials visited the spot and handed over relief to the victim's family to perform the last rite.
