79 Indians detained in Lanka for working illegally

Sri Lankan authorities today detained 79 Indian nationals for allegedly working illegally in a southwestern town near here.

The Immigration and Emigration Department said 79 Indian nationals were detained for abusing their entry visas.

They were found to be working illegally in an industry in Matugama, over 70km from Colombo.

They will be deported, officials said.
