8 killed, 7 injured in separate road accidents in Rajasthan

Eight people were killed, including a toddler, and seven others injured in separate road accidents in Rajasthan since yesterday, the police said.

Three men were killed today after a truck hit a bus standing near a hotel on the National Highway (NH)-8 in Ajmer district, they said.

The bus driver Maru Lal (45), conductor Shankar (30) and a passenger Vikas (40) were killed in the accident, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Jitendra Kumar said, adding that they died on the spot.

A case has been registered against the truck's driver, the officer said.

In Alwar district, a tractor-trolley hit a motorcycle, killing a 38-year-old woman and injuring two others today near Kesarpur village, the police said.
 

Jaibuna died on the spot while her husband and brother- in-law were injured. The body was handed over to family members after post-mortem, ASI Prakash Chand said.

A case was registered against the tractor's driver, he said.

Yesterday, in Alwar district's Neemrana, four people, including a one-year-old girl were killed and five others injured after a container truck overturned and hit a jeep on the NH-8, SHO Hitesh Sharma said.

Sunita Yogi (40), Sarla Dhanak (50), Gudia (1) and the jeep's driver Rajendra alias Kalu died on the spot. The truck's driver and five others were injured, he said.

The bodies were handed over to family members after post-mortem and a case has been registered, the officer said.
