At least eight persons of the same family, including women and children, were killed when the roof of a house collapsed during a wedding on Thursday in northwest Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan , officials said.
The tragic incident occurred in Lerra area of Orakzai district of the province. A marriage ceremony was taking place when the roof collapsed due to heavy rainfall.
Twenty five people have been injured and eight persons were killed in the accident, police said
Soon after the incident, people rushed to the site and started rescue operations. Later rescue officials also reached and helped in pulling out people from the rubble.
The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
