8 nominations rejected in Puducherry

The Electoral authorities today rejected nomination papers of eight candidates and found 33 including that of Minister of State in PMO V Narayanaswamy in order, after the scrutiny.

The Union Territory of Puducherry is going to polls on April 24 along with Tamil Nadu.

The nomination papers of other prominent candidates which were accepted include AINRC candidate and former Speaker of Puducherry Assembly R.Radhakrishnan, DMK MLA, A M H Nazeem, M V Omalingam (AIADMK) R K R Anandaraman (PMK) and R Viswanathan (CPI).

The last day for withdrawal of nominations is April 9.
