9 more swine flu patients detected in Lucknow

Nine more persons have tested positive for swine flu, taking the total number of cases to 49 in the state capital, a senior health official said today.

"Nine new patients have been detected in the state capital. They are being treated in different hospitals including the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of medical sciences here," Chief Medical Officer SNS Yadav said.

Two of the nine new patients are residing inside the premier SGPGI medical campus, Yadav said and added that with these new cases the toll of swine flu patients has reached to 49 in Lucknow.

Two people, including a retired Army officer and the wife of a defence personnel, last month succumbed to the disease, caused by H1N1 virus, here.
