Two councillors from the opposition in the East Delhi Municipal Corporation today alleged that a family member of an AAP MLA from East Delhi conducted inspection of an area in the locality in place of the legislator.
In the EDMC House meeting today, the two councillors claimed that "East Corporation officials had recently gone to the MLA's office with regard to conducting an inspection in an area."
"The civic officials waited for him (MLA) to arrive but he did not turned up and instead his relative came in his place and conducted the inspection," one of the councillors claimed.
A senior civic official said that the matter was, however, debated in the House with restrain and "without any commotion."
"Following this allegation, the Mayor has directed the top officials to look into the procedure of conducting an area inspection and streamline the process," he said.
The AAP MLA, however, could not be reached out immediately for comments.
