Abandoned newborn found, shifted to hospital

A newborn girl child was found abandoned in trans-Yamuna area of the district and shifted to a hospital, police said today.

The infant was found lying by police in Laxmi Nagar area on Monday. SSP Rakesh Singh personally handled the matter and got her admitted to a hospital, where she was provided proper treatment, they said.

Singh also visited the hospital to inquire about her condition and said he would bear all the expenses on her treatment.

The girl's condition is now stable, police said.
